8 slices firm, white bread (sourdough is great), with the crusts cut off Egg mixture: Arrange crustless bread in a buttered 9 x 12 dish. Sprinkle sausage and cheese evenly over bread. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs well. Add other ingredients and mix well. Pour egg mixture over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Preheat the oven to 325 and bake uncovered until hot and bubbly, 40-45 minutes. June 2009 |
